oh no!

September 26, 2009

Dr. Choi (lung doc) just came in and told me it didn’t take. So we need to wait until there is more drainage of air. Currently, there is is 70% air, which is way too much for a healthy lung. So they are going to do another procedure to re-input the talc back in the lung. If the lung still doesn’t drain, then we will have to an operation. Either way, I am still stuck to .. Read More

Putting a stop to my lung collapse

September 25, 2009

Today I had Talc powder injected in my lung. I don’t remember much, but I woke up this morning at 5 or 6am and then next thing I know I am waking up and it’s 3:30pm. My bladder was about to burst and I was starving! I didn’t remember anything. I didn’t see Tammy anywhere and I was totally confused as to what was going on. Thankfully the nurse came and explained everything to me. .. Read More

New Style

September 22, 2009

I just bought a new wig! Here are some wigs

Tammy finally made it to Phoenix this morning at 6am! Wes’s mother left the car at the airport for her so first she had trouble finding the car. To make matters worse, she didn’t have her cell phone or wallet because she left it in Vegas so i had no way of communicating with her. Wes did get a message that she made it and was trying to get to the car. I waited for her .. Read More

Another day

September 21, 2009

I hate this! I am soooo bored right now. This day has been a complete waste, slipping in and out of dreamland. I am sick of being in the hospital and all I want to do is run as far away from here as possible. Regardless, I feel like I have plenty over the next months. So far this year we have been throwing around the idea of doing Thanksgiving here in Phx and renting .. Read More

A Collapsed Lung

September 20, 2009

I knew it from the moment I had a difficult time catching my breath, but nothing to be alarmed about. We got down to CTCA late afternooon and they did a aCT Scan. Sure enough, my entire left lung had collapsed. Not good news. This means that they would have to call in the doc to do the surgery. I was so not looking forward to it. Fortunately, the nurse that .. Chemo update

September 18, 2009

Yeah! It is already 3:30pm and I haven’t thrown up yet. I do feel a little nauseous, but I am able to eat and keep food down as of right now. This round we did things a little different to prevent nausea. I had acupuncture done, bought the seabands to wear on my wrists, and also took Emmend for the first couple of days. We reduced the dosage of chemo as well. This combination .. Read More

Day 2 Complete!

September 17, 2009

Today is day two of the second round of Taxotere and Erbitux. This morning I had all sorts of appointments at CTCA. I had acupuncture done for pain, nausea, and constipation, met with the occupational therapist, received my Newlasta shot, and went to the salon to purchase my first wig. I still have not shaved my head, but figured it’s about time to get the wig. She shaped it a little so I will wear it .. Read More

Round 2 Chemo-complete

Yesterday was round 2 of Taxotere. I guess it was decided that I would do a lower dosage 60MG instead of 75MG of the drug. I’m not sure how drastic of a change this is, but I guess it’s what the doctor is recommending. I also received another chemo that starts with an “E’. I can’t remember the name right now, but I have to get this chemo every week. The Taxotere will still .. Read More

Yesterday I was scheduled to do chemo. When I got to CTCA and told the doctor again how sick I still was, he wanted to hold off until I had a couple of tests done. Taxotere is not known for making people this sick, so he wanted to test my brain to see if the cancer had spread there or to examine my digestive system to see if there is any blockage. The MRI was first. I .. Read More
