October 28, 2010

Another boring day gone by. Its so frustrating. The weather is perfect outside and I am not even able to enjoy it. I have friends over quite often, usually at least one person comes by a day. At least that seems to break up the monotony of things and of course I am always happy to see my friends.

Yesterday I had my meetings with the doctors at CTCA. Usually I see the doctors once every .. Read More

October 24

October 24, 2010

I can’t believe it’s Halloween already! Time is like a whirlwind passing by in a blur. For some reason the past two days I have been really exhausted. It could have something to do with the pain killers. I took an extra methadone yesterday because my shoulder and back was hurting. I just felt completely drained. I think I woke up and then passed back out at least 4-5 times yesterday. I have .. Read More

Thoughts for today

October 19, 2010

Today is October 19. I cannot believe that a whole new year is almost finished. It was about this time in 2008 that I started to feel pain in my back. I had thought it was from pilates or yoga, maybe I had pulled a muscle or had done something to my back. I started seeing a chiropractor. Little did I know that they were actually causing the fractures in my vertebrae. I know .. Read More

It’s 3am

October 15, 2010

Tomorrow it seems will be the day that I will finally go home. I was planning for today, but it didn’t quite work out so maybe tomorrow. I am in a little bit of pain, so I didn’t mind hanging out resting for a day. Surprisingly, I’ve been quite busy with appointments each day so it was nice to just relax. We’ll see though, I know this quadramet is supposed to cause bone pain after about .. Read More

October 13

October 13, 2010

Tonight is my last night staying at the CTCA hotel (for now). I finished my last round of tomotherapy on my shoulder today and had the quadramet infusion. The quadramet is supposed to cause some bone pain in a few days that lasts from a week to a few weeks. It may cause a drop in my platelet levels as well. I am hoping that this will help with the bone pain and then I can .. Read More

Moving Forward

October 11, 2010

Hi all,

I have been receiving alot of messages from people both on the blog and via email. I haven’t met some of you and it’s hard sometimes to keep track of everyone and their status, so I’m sorry it’s taken me some time to write back. I do read everything and appreciate all of the support and love you have shown.

I am currently at CTCA. I am staying in the guest suites here until Wednesday so I .. Read More

Fork in the Road

October 8, 2010

Today was a very busy day! It started first thing this morning with blood draws and then the bustling about of the nurses during thier morning shift change. It turned out that my radiation was moved to an earlier time, so as I was in the shower I heard the nurse say that the radiation tech was there to pick me up. I barely had time to dry myself off before I was wheelchaired downstairs. Thankfully, .. Read More

Extended Stay CTCA

This was written at an earlier time, but I forgot to publish it to the site so sorry it’s a little late.

I was just discharged last Sunday from inpatient. My arm was still killing, and I wasn’t feeling that great, but there really wasn’t anything else for them to do except giving me pain meds. I had to come back Monday for my tomotherapy. I tried to get settled into my mold on the table .. Read More

Radiation

October 4, 2010

I was finally discharged yesterday from CTCA only to be right back here today. My shoulder is still in major pain and swollen. We have put chemo on hold until I finish with radiation (7 more treatments). Today, I woke up to find myself on the couch where I had fallen asleep from the night prior. I was dying of thirst and my whole body was in pain. I had to move my appointment with .. Read More
