A Final Trip To Lake Chelan

January 1, 2011

We would first like to say we hope you all had an enjoyable and safe holiday season.  We know Melissa was celebrating with us and all of you.  We are also pretty sure she found time to hit the slopes in heaven and watch the snow fall all around her (one her most beloved Christmas holiday activities).  Thank you all again for your prayers and love; Melissa is surely listening

We wanted to update all of Melissa’s friends and .. Read More

Melissa’s Celebration of Life

December 12, 2010

On December 11, 2010 we held a small life celebration for Melissa.  Her closest friends and family members attended the party.   The wine flowed and the food was delectable, just as Melissa would have wanted.  Fond memories were shared, and many laughs were had as we all remembered our spirited sister.  It was a room filled with love for Melissa.  We all knew Melissa was there listening to the conversations and partaking in the laughs.

We want to thank all the .. Read More

A Spirited Warrior Moves On

November 25, 2010

Today at 2:00 pm Melissa took her last breaths in the arms of her family. She now will be in the arms of her mother, who we know was awaiting her with open arms. Favorite things

June 27, 2010

I wrote down this blog awhile ago, and I thought I would remind myself these little things because it’s so easy to get caught up in day to day life. Just thinking about one minor comfort, memory, or dream for the future can help. I added a few ones well. Feel free to add any suggestions or share yours

A Hold Up

June 13, 2010

I somehow forgot or misplaced my Arixtra (bloodclot meds) in the midst of travelling so I haven’t taken my medication for a few days. I am supposed to take the medication daily to prevent .. Plans

June 7, 2010

The chemo finally kicked in. The past week or two I have been feeling phenomenal. It almost became a joke to me because I had so much energy, more than I ever had prior to cancer. I was having a hard time sleeping at night and during the day I was going non stop all day running errands, chores, meeting up with friends, etc.

Finally, three days after chemo I started to feel that drained, tired, .. Read More

Clinical Trials

June 4, 2010

Yesterday Tammy and I met with Dr. Weiss at TGEN. It has been over a year since the last time I met with this group. Last time I left in a frantic frenzy calling doctors all over the State and Country to find more information on fertility treatments prior to starting chemo.

This time the appointment was very similiar. We went over my history over the past 1 1/2 years and then a moderate physical testing my balance, .. Read More
