Vacations

It’s so hard to say goodbye

July 26, 2010

Back in my own bed. Normally, I am excited to come home, but this time I was looking forward to spending another night in the comfortable confines of Villa Descanso in Cabo. I can’t say enough about the services, home, and surroundings of the Villa. It was better than any 5 start resort than any 5 star resort. To make it a thousand times better, I was with such a great group of people. Everyone .. Read More

Watchdog

July 7, 2010

It has been quite some time since I have posted my own blog. I know Ann Marie and Lara had posted some sort of update as well as my Cousin who was here in town so hopefully everyone didn’t feel too out of the loop. I have had many calls, but I haven’t been able to return some and I ended up loosing my voice a few days ago so talking has been a major strain. Thankfully, .. Read More

Another Day

April 20, 2010

I guess I was getting my days messed up. Today is Tuesday, so tomorrow is our last full day here in Cozumel. I’m glad because I think I need one more day here. This trip has been good for me. It’s been partly frustrating for a variety of reasons, but it’s also been a time for me to think about things to come. I have been feeling much more out of my element and .. Read More

More beach time

April 19, 2010

Today I had to wake up early to catch the ferry to Playa Del Carmen with Barb and Dad. They had some doc appointments and I had to go pick up some blood clot medication. We had been to the pharmacy a few days earlier and the clerk said they would order it in and it would be there by today. I guess we were wrong. They had no record of it in their inventory. I .. A Realization

April 18, 2010

Here’s the thing I just realized…unless you are in the position that I am faced with or similiar, you will never understand. Nobody can grasp the pain that I feel sometimes, the way that I go about my day is a mystery to some, the hours of sunlight in a day and time doesn’t mean a thing to me, and in the overall picture of things, 99% of the time it doesn’t matter! The things that people .. Read More

No more rain

April 17, 2010

Once again it’s in the middle of the night and I am downstairs by the pool trying to get whatever wi-fi is available. It’s so annoying because I keep trying to watch Prison Break and the damn player keeps “buffering” pausing the show. I have been trying to watch it now for 20 minutes…the same episode!

Tonight we went out with Dad and Barb’s friends that own a hotel here on Cozumel. We met up at a great Italian .. Read More

Rain, wind, more rain

April 16, 2010

It’s 2:30am and I am sitting by the pool listening to the Ocean, worried that I am being eaten alive by mosquitos. I am trying to take advantage of the wi-fii here on the beach since my parents don’t get it in their condo. It’s kind of relaxing, yet a little eerie since I haven’t slept much the past few days and I am paranoid from all of the night sounds and creatures. Just a few minutes .. Read More

Beaches

March 22, 2010

Today we are leaving to head back to New Zealand. Our flight doesn’t leave until tonight so we are thinking of doing a cruise along the harbor. Yesterday we took a ferry to Manly Beach. The boat ride was short, but absolutely beautiful! I can’t believe how many cool beaches line the harbor. There are tons of little coves with private areas of sand. Manly beach was very different than Bondi Beach. It .. Read More

Kangaroo, Harry Conick and a little Chinese

March 21, 2010

Sydney seems quite different than New Zealand so far. I think Carol and I both agree that we like the energy of Sydney better than Auckland. This place seems to have the best of both worlds, the ocean and city. People here seem nice and helpful and there is tons to do. The first night we went to the harbor for dinner. We had some interesting food which included Kangaroo and some strange animal tail. .. Read More

First day in Sydney

March 20, 2010

It was time to leave Auckland and head to our next destination-Sydney. Unfortunately, this happened at 4am! We were both exhausted by the time that we got to our hotel. Auckland was okay, but probably not a place that I would spend more than a couple of days unless you plan on touring around the outskirts of town. The skywalk was not nearly as scary as we thought. We were strapped into a harness the .. Read More
